What is an evp?

Electronic voice phenomena (EVP) are sections of static noise on the radio or electronic recording that some listeners believe sound like voices speaking words; paranormal investigators sometimes interpret these noises as the voices of ghosts or spirits.[1] Recording EVP has become a technique of those who attempt to contact the souls of dead loved ones or during ghost hunting activities. According to parapsychologist Konstantin Raudive, who popularized the idea,[2] EVP are typically brief, usually the length of a word or short phrase.[3]

Skeptics of the paranormal attribute the voice-like aspect of the sounds to apophenia (finding of significance or connections between insignificant or unrelated phenomena), auditory pareidolia (interpreting random sounds into voices in their own language which might otherwise sound like random noise to a foreign speaker), artifacts due to low-quality equipment, and simple hoaxes. Likewise some reported EVP can be attributed to radio interference or other well-documented phenomena.

References to EVP have appeared in the reality television shows Paranormal State, Most Haunted, Celebrity Paranormal Project, and Ghost Hunters, the fictional television series Supernatural, Medium, Maury (TV series) and Ghost Whisperer and Hollywood films such as White Noise and The Sixth Sense.

Villisca Axe Murder House EVPS

"There not gonna help you!"

This EVP was caught in the the the attic of the Vallisca Axe Murder House. Nobody was in the attic.

"I'm Guilty!"

Male voice caught in the Kitchen confessing his guilt. If only he would have given us a name! I am curious if anyone hears an accent?

"Don't tell them my secret" or "Go tell my secret" - "The candy is from them" and "Thanks you two!"

Female voice in the kitchen seems to have something that she wants to tell us.

A male voice says, "the candy is from them" And the same voice replies, "Thanks you two". We left candy in few places in the house as a gift for the spirits of the Moore and Stillenger children.... I think they liked it.

"_______ Julie!"

This was caught in the palor of the Vallisca Axe Murder House. It is definately a little girls voice. The voice fades in and is unintelligable.. untill you clearly hear the name JULIE. JulieV from the Nightwatchers Radio show obviously has a fan!

"Lets go in the Kitchen and hide"

The name says it all. We had just asked if the children wanted to play Hide and seek. Definately sounds like someone wants to play!

"Todd Ball"

Someone is either calling Todd's attention to a ball or asking him to look at the ball. This is very interesting because later that Night Todd caught some amazing evidence on video that involves a ball. Check out our video page to see this evidence.

"Stop"

In the upstairs bedroom. We are all asking the kids to open the closet door. Allthough we couldn't get them to open it all the way we did get a few "slight openings". This voice was caught telling someone to STOP!

Mystery Manor EVPS

Giggle

Technically not an evp because we could hear it. But a very creepy giggle, right before you hear someone talk about sitting down to get comfortable. This was picked up about 2 minutes into our investigation at mystery manor in the uneven floor room. This was the start to a great night. Todd Sheets says he has some "AWESOME" footage from this investigatipon (22mins). But he will not tell us what!!!! If you want to see what it is check out the SOON TO BE SOLD OUT Nightwatchers DVD at www.nightwatchradio.com. The best $20 for your paranormal dollar!!!

Glore Psychiatric Museum EVPS

"Go ahead scare them" "You" "Go ahead and scare them" "I'll just stand here and go ahhhhh" ........."F#% it lets go back"

Amanda and Amy are on the 2nd floor waiting for the elevator. They where talking about how inactive the floor was and how Amy had a sick feeling on the 3rd floor. Amy is the one making the throw up sound but after that you hear a conversation between two men who seemed to be quite aware of the girls. Amanda and Amy were the ONLY ones on the floor at the time.

"Hello" "Help me" "Help"

The second is 1 minute into Jason and Amy's exploration of the basement. Jason says "hello" and we seem to have several answers.

Here is the enhanced version of the above

"Theres that ball", or "Roll That ball"

Asking the girls to play with the same ball that they played with on our last visit.

Cause I don't have too.

Picture
This was caught in the attic. Jason asks a question and it sounds like a child answering.

"Your welcome", or "Welcome"

Picture
The ghost seemed to be very polite and either welcomed us in to the house or said your your welcome.
UPDATE:After checking our second recorder we heard the same thing on it. Thoughts?

More EVP files will be added soon!
